-
There has been a severe depletion of nutrients from our agricultural soils over the last 50 years. This has been well documented in many Government reports. Thus, fruits and vegetables grown in these soils no longer contain adequate nutrients.
-
Modern marketing techniques for fruit and vegetables require transport from distant growing regions to centralised retail outlets. In order to avoid damage and spoilage during transport, fruit is picked "green" and artificially ripened at the end point. This does not allow for adequate uptake and production of nutrients (minerals and antioxidants) during the growth phase.
-
It is a scientific fact that there is rapid breakdown of antioxidants in foods after they have been harvested. Most modern "fresh" fruit and vegetables that are purchased at the supermarket are likely to be well over one week "old" and therefore have only a fraction of their original (already deficient) nutritional content.
-
Genetic modification of food has lead to a number of changes, one of which is the rapid ripening of fruit and vegetables (shortened growth cycle) which in turn does not allow full uptake of minerals and development of antioxidants in your food.
Solution: For most people, the best option is to take supplements of vitamins, minerals and other antioxidants. However, you must be sure the supplements are effective because there are numerous consumer reports that many commercial supplements do not contain effective ingredients. You should also eat regular daily meals of organically grown fresh fruit and vegetables. Preferably, grow your own food and eat it soon after harvest. It is irrefutable that taking antioxidant supplements is beneficial. Heart attacks, cancer and vascular disease have been shown to be reduced by using antioxidant supplements. Many other diseases (arthritis, asthma, ADD, diabetes and more) have been reported to exhibit a decrease in symptoms when they are used.
Free Radicals
There is no doubt that the community is being exposed to an ever-increasing free radical attack. That is what "pollution" is, and we are all aware that the world is becoming dangerously polluted. The effect of this increased free radical attack is an increase of disease in the community. This increase is confirmed on a daily basis in regularly published medical and scientific reports. These reports also appear in your daily newspapers and in a variety of health publications.
There are three main areas of concern:
Personal care products
- Hair care
- Skin care
- Dental care
- Cosmetics
Household products
- Cleaning products
- Paints
- Furniture & furniture glue
- Carpets
- Plastics
- Insulation
Environmental
The answer to this problem is to eliminate the harmful ingredients or products that are causing you harm, or at least minimize your exposure to them
.
Personal Care Products

There are often ingredients used in personal care products (shampoos, conditioners, skin care, deodorants, cosmetics, toothpaste, soap and many more) which have been reported to be irritant or potentially harmful (even carcinogenic in some circumstances). It is strongly recommended that you check the labels of your family personal care products and look for the following ingredients which may have potentially harmful effects:
Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (Sodium Laureth Sulphate):
-
Is an irritant used in clinical trials
-
Can be detrimental to hair follicles
-
Can enter the body via the skin and accumulate
-
Denatures proteins, which can affect eyes
-
Can damage the immune system and the skin
Propylene Glycol:
-
Can cause contact dermatitis
-
Can damage membranes and cause rashes
-
Can cause skin and surface damage
-
Can cause a number of adverse reactions
-
Is a primary skin irritant
-
May cause skin and eye irritation
-
Can cause gastrointestinal problems, nausea and headaches
-
Can cause vomiting and depression
Formalin:
Mineral oil:
These substances are most often used in products that you would least expect to find harmful and potentially dangerous ingredients.
Some of the products you will find these ingredients in are:
-
Shampoo (including children's shampoo)
-
Toothpaste
-
Bubble bath
-
Shower gel
-
Mouth wash
...and many more...
These ingredients can be detrimental at the area of exposure. Therefore, shampoos may cause dermatitis (dandruff) and skin care products may cause dehydration and premature aging.
But there are many other dangerous ingredients in other products.
Talc: used in powders and reported as a probable cancer-causing agent.
Alcohol: used in mouthwashes and has been linked to oral cancer.
Aluminium: used in many anti-perspirants and may be linked to Alzheimer's disease.
Cosmetics: may contain potentially harmful ingredients such as some colouring agents in lipsticks. Many nail polishes use toxic ingredients and volatile agents like acrylic and acetone.
Warning!
All these ingredients may expose you and your family to unnecessary free radical attack. Thus the balance can be pushed towards you contracting free radical disease.
The best way to reduce the risk is to decrease or preferably eliminate these types of ingredients from your everyday product usage. Do some research for yourself. Go to the supermarket and find out how many personal care products have these ingredients.
You may have to search further than the supermarket to overcome this dilemma.
Menopause
There is much more damage from everyday pollution than most of the community is aware of. In particular, there are molecules called xenoestrogens (which come from many sources) that are very rapidly causing enormous changes to health (particularly the female population). These xenoestrogens come from areas of pollution and environmental toxicity like: pesticides, plastics, petro-chemicals, food emulsifiers and dietary products. These xenoestrogens act as "false" or "foreign" estrogens and help activate hormonal imbalance in many females.
This is called "estrogen dominance"
This dominance (excessive levels) of estrogen or alternatively, low levels of progesterone, can cause enormous problems including menopause symptoms (osteoporosis, breast cancer, uterine cancer, hot flushes, irritability, as well as many other symptoms), PMT (PMS) and infertility. Xenoestrogens have also been shown to be causing a dramatic reduction of sperm counts in males (of all species - including humans) throughout the world. This is an enormous problem that requires correction on two fronts.
Firstly:
-
Reduce xenoestrogen intake by reducing ingestion of red meats and decreasing your exposure to plastics, chemicals and pesticides, and similar products.
-
As well, you can reduce your exposure to estrogen (eg HRT) and reduce your obesity (which also leads to increased levels of estrogen in the body).
-
Combat xenoestrogens by taking antioxidant supplements.
Secondly:
Household Products

Many house cleaning products have very toxic and volatile agents in them. Furthermore many products that are used within the house have been reported to have significant toxic effects. Items such as paint, carpets, furniture glue (formaldehyde is the worst), plastics, deodorisers, adhesives, insulation and many more.
The only way to combat these poisons is to:
-
Know what is potentially dangerous
-
Learn what toxic substances are in which products
-
Ventilate your house as much as possible
-
Reduce the number of dangerous products in your house
-
Choose safe alternatives
-
Aerate your products (carpets, furniture, etc.) before putting them in your house.
As a general rule: if it doesn't smell right then it probably isn't. Eliminate whatever it is from your house (or air it to reduce the smell and therefore reduce the "nasties").
Environmental Pollution

Everyone knows that pollution is increasing in the world today. The effects on the world are becoming catastrophic. The green house effect is causing global warming, there are increasing levels of smog in every city, waste accumulation is everywhere causing huge problems with health and esthetics, and the list goes on ... and on ... and on.
What Is The SOLUTION?
A HEALTHY home!
This page provides explanations of why your health and that of your family is at ever-increasing risk. It explains why cancer, heart disease, diabetes, asthma, arthritis, menopause problems and many other diseases are on the increase and therefore why you will probably die prematurely, unless you do something to change things right now!
You can do this in two ways:
-
Supplement your diet with antioxidants
-
Reduce the risk of free radical attack (or exposure) by using personal care products that have no harmful ingredients in them. Reducing the free radicals in your house by ventilating and changing your cleaning products and other household products to safe alternatives
We offer you access to a fantastic range of high quality antioxidant supplements and products that do not have harmful ingredients in them.
This extends to personal care products, household products, even automotive products that reduce the pollution from your car (and also make it more efficient to run). Perhaps most importantly, we can provide advice on new and powerful "third generation" antioxidants that can help protect you and your family from the harmful free radical attack that exists in our modern world.
