Most students do not know how to study properly for exams. Some do not study at all, and almost all students study ineffectively. The result is that most do not do as well as they should when it comes to their exam results. Dale has outlined many valuable tips to help students deal with some of the chaos and drama that befalls all students from time to time. As well, he has documented the various enormously important aspects of examinations and what are the fundamental issues that a student must deal with (and must know if they are to do well). He has also comprehensively outlined the steps a student should go through during the term, during "swat vac" and then during the exams. He has even made some suggestions about what you should do after the exams. In this book you will find: How to pass exams easily -- with NO stress! The best type of music to have playing in the background during revision -- and the worst! A technique that is as close as you can get to "cheating" -- legally! A technique that brings you to the peak of performance just as you enter the exam hall. Using this technique you would NOT benefit from another day of study! A way of coping with the stress of exams that you may never have thought of! A guide to life after the exams how to 'follow your own star' and get to the life you want to have An inside look into what university life is really like for a student A list of additional books and resources that you should have on your bookshelf if you want to "make it" in today's world Dale also goes into great detail about vital aspects of student life that you NEED to know. Such as not just buying the recommended text books and having them in your bookshelf, but actually reading them. As Dale says, "I always thought that all I had to do was read the notes I took in class or lectures. I didn't realise that they didn't always cover all the things I needed to know. Badly organised lecturers and teachers didn't cover all the necessary aspects of the course, or they reduced the material in the last few weeks of term. They didn't give me enough detail to obtain a pass in their exam! So read the books!!"
Dale also shows an excellent path to accelerated learning: re-writing your lecture notes within 48 hours, but preferably the same day. He's not alone in suggesting this -- most of the leading educationalists recommend this strategy. But Dale adds a twist: read the notes aloud to yourself when you've finished! And there's sound scientific evidence for suggesting this. A branch of Psychology known as Neuro-Linguistics has found that our brains respond to many different stimuli and receiving more yet different stimuli of the same message really helps us learn and retain information. So by writing out your notes and actually listening to your own voice read them out aloud you are really helping your brain retain the knowledge. A great strategy!
