This group of photos shows the outings during 2006.

In other parts of Africa, history tells us that slavery and disease have been the main ingredients of life throughout the centuries. Sometimes - including today - life was and is so dreadful with nightmares like malaria, AIDS and hunger that parents, in some parts of Africa, have no alternative but to sell their children. They do this not just for the money, but in the hope that whoever buys their child will provide them with a better life.

In The Gambia, although life is often tough and most people survive on just one meal a day, the people are surprisingly happy and extremely resilient. Their shoreline is aptly called ‘The Smiling Coast’.
