Destitute Children’s Home Pokhara Nepal The photos here are a selection from 2006 and 2007. Initially the Destitute Children's Home was a tiny humble dwelling when Geof Prigge first discovered the group. The initial undertaking was to convert part of the rooftop to a herb garden so as to encourage the staff and orphans to grow some of their own crops. Then to attempt to attract sponsors for additional chores. In early 2007, a US based group called Trekking for Kids found this website and began plans to visit later in the year. It's November now and the group has just finished a trek and an exciting relocation of these children from their old home to a beautiful new one. As well, an Australian National Parks group visited and brought more gifts including boomerangs and hand-made clothes. The new home is located in the Basundhara Park region in the vicinity of the famous Fishtail Lodge. For further information in giving help, please contact aid@globalhandscharity.com
