Geof Prigge Nursery School

The following photos show the development of the school during 2006 in The Gambia. From a basic shell of a school, volunteers added rooms including a kitchen and craft room, re-designed others to incorporate a teachers’ room and library, cleared land for a small farm and a football field, built swings and a covered bantaba which provides shade in between games, and planted over a hundred banana and mango trees.

The school needs ongoing assistance to cover stationery and medical items, seeds and seedlings, additional games and books as well as teachers’ wages. Until now, they have volunteered their services.
